Welcome to or back to my blog! Today’s blog is on Palma – Spain!
I thought I would let you know about what I did when I went there – it was a short trip, only a few days, but in that time I was able to do a lot! Here is what I recommend:
Once I arrived in Palma, my family and I immediately went to our accommodation and then explored the centre where we stayed. We walked to Cathedral La Seo and went to the harbour where all the boats and yachts were. The Cathedral is stunning both outside and inside! It is architecturally stunning and has the prettiest stain-glass window inside. I would recommend going inside to look at it – it is free to do so.
In the evening we ate our dinner and then found the famous Bar called ‘Abaco.’ The drinks are very expensive, however the bar is incredible. The atmosphere is amazing with music and there is period décor and an amazing arrangement of fruit on display.
The following morning we went to the Castell de Bellver which is a gothic-style castle built on a hill 3km to the west of the centre of Palma. Built in the 14th century, there is so much history in the castle and some stunning views of Palma. It is very busy and there are lots of steps to climb to reach the castle due to its location – situated on the top of a hill.
A two minute walk from the castle is the Palau de L’Almudaina which is the royal palace in Palma. It is one of the best places to visit in Palma for its beauty and price! It is not too expensive and tourists are given a lot of time to explore the large grounds and learn about its historical significance. It is a great place to visit and one I could not recommend enough.
The next day, we took the train from Palma to Port de Soller. I loved Soller! There is a stunning bay there and plenty of opportunities to go shopping and spend time at the beach. We ate our lunch at ‘Agapanto’ overlooking the bay and it was the perfect lunch spot. It is usually busy in the evenings but is a quiet place to eat at for lunch and a great place to admire the views.
The following day, before leaving to go home, we walked along the coast and enjoyed spending time shopping in Palma.
I really enjoyed my trip to Palma! It was short and we didn’t do much other than shopping, but I loved Mallorca and would like to return! Has anyone else been to Palma before and is there anything that you recommend doing/ seeing that I didn’t do?
Let me know in the comments! Thank you so much for reading and I hope you have an amazing day!
